Head Coach

Stephen ‘Mack’ McDonnell

Coach Mack took over as Head Coach in 2016 following two years as Offensive Coordinator. He is a former Running Backs Coach for Team Ireland. He has also served as a Performance Analyst for the National Team.

Assistant Head Coach & Performance Coach

Emma B. Connaughton

Coach B came on board as the Panthers Performance Coach with Coach Macks new staff in 2016 and following the close of the 2017 Season was elevated to Assistant Head Coach. Coach B is a sports psychology PhD candidate and is responsible for the performance of Panthers Coaches and Athletes.

Offence

Offensive Line Coach & Special Teams Coach
Brendan McAleese

Coach McAleese joined the Panthers near the end of 2017 season and helped see the Panthers to a team record offensive total in 2017. Coach McAleese was the Head Coach of the North Kildare Reapers from 2013 to 2016. He is also a Shamrock Bowl Champion during his playing career and is a former Wide Receivers Coach and current Special Teams Coordinator Coordinator for the Irish National Team also.

Skill Position Coach
Steven O’Rourke

Coach O’Rourke was the Offensive Coordinator for the successful Tullamore Phoenix teams from 2010 to 2012 and joins the Panthers for the 2018 season. He is also one of the foremost experts on American Football in Ireland with NFL and College football reporting published nationally.

Defence

Defensive Coach
Conor O’Driscoll

Coach Drico coached the Defensive Backs for the Panthers from 2013 to the close of the 2016 season. He will return as a Defensive Back Coach for the 2018 season.

Defensive Front Coach
Conor O’Sullivan

Coach Sully joined the Panthers in 2016 with Coach Mack as Defensive Front Coach. Leading the defence from an early stage he took up the role as Defensive Coordinator during the 2017 season. Coach Sully comes with vast experience, being an accomplished Rugby Coach and analyst, working for Leinster and Connaught Rugby during his career. He is also a veteran of the Irish American Football Association and is the Defensive Line Coach of Team Ireland.

Defensive Consultant
John Romanowski

Coach Romo returns to the Panthers for the 2018 season following his time as Head Coach from 2013 to 2016, during which time the Panthers were promoted to the premier level of football in Ireland, the SBC, maintaining that status to this day. A former Defensive Line Coach for Ireland Under 23’s and Defensive Coordinator for the Senior Team. With experience coaching in Ireland and in the United States, he one of the most experienced Coaches in Ireland.

Assistant Coaches

The Panthers are always looking to develop Coaches both within and outside the team. If getting involved and possibly Coaching American Football is something you are interested in, the Panthers have a large and experienced Coaching staff to help you on that journey. Training with our Senior Team will develop your skills and match days with our development team will test your skills as you apply what you’ve learned to live situations.
